I went on Angie’s list and reviewed the reports listed for Stepping Stone Interiors window treatment services. I was VERY skeptical about all the positive comments and remarks that were posted by previous clients. I thought…No one could be that good. I called Stepping Stone Interiors to see what they had to say. The call went very well so I decided to have them out to the house. After meeting Kim I felt very confident in her services and ability to help me with my window treatment problems. We were able to install into brick just fine and I am very pleased with how everything turned out. I am now a believer in Angie’s List because Stepping Stone Interiors was everything and more than what all the positive comments said about them.
The process of ordering and installing the window shades went very smoothly. For one very large window (7 feet wide), Kim was able to identify a shade that would cover a large expanse and still work well. Another company stated that we would have to use three shades instead of one.
Kim came understanding our taste in design and very quickly designed the perfect contemporary cornice and zeroed in on fabrics that would enhance the room. The installation was very efficient and quick. They were meticulous in cleaning up after the installation was complete. The pricing was very fair.
Kim immediately replied to my phone call to get an estimate. She discussed with me what sort of blinds I needed. She arranged a convenient time to bring samples by. She had a nice array to select from and gave me great advice. The shades came in quickly! Her installer came to install…he did a wonderful, professional installation. They took away the old blinds to repair for Habitat for Humanity…which I commend them on! Great experience. She has since emailed me sales and specials regarding other blinds I hope to replace at some point.
Kim came to our house and was prepared with a very large array of samples. When we decided on a window treatment, she measured all the windows (18). The blinds arrived in two weeks, and an installation date was made to work around my husband’s schedule.Kim and her installer arrived with the blinds on time, and brought in a second set of shoes so the house wouldn’t get dirty. The blinds were installed. The old blinds were neatly bundled up and would be delivered to Habitat for Humanity. I was very pleased with this, as the blinds were still good, and would be recycled. After the installation was complete, Kim and her installer went through the house vacuuming and cleaning up. She also said she was available for any questions or could come over at any time if there was trouble with the blinds. My husband and I were very pleased with the work.
Kim was very easy to work with and brought a lot of samples with her. She was even willing to return with more samples if I couldn’t find what I wanted. Her installer did a good job hanging the window treatments and took old treatments to Habitat for Humanity to be recycled for us. She was punctual when we set up a time to meet or if a problem arose she was good at communicating with me. The window treatments were a high quality of workmanship. We were very pleased in dealing with Kim.
Kim measured my windows and skylight, provided lots of samples from which to choose window treatments, gave good advice, answered all my questions, and followed up by e-mail. She was on time for each appointment and was very professional. She does a good job.
Kim provided custom top-down/ bottom-up shades for the master bedroom, found fabric for reupholstering two much-loved chairs and put me in touch with an upholsterer to do the work. Kim is just terrific. I can’t recommend her highly enough. She came out to the house (when scheduled!), looked at what I had, listened to what I wanted, asked a lot of good questions, showed me a lot of possibilities, then went away and hunted down just the right thing — twice, once for the windows and then for the chairs. She’s very, very easy to work with and utterly reliable. Did I mention that she’s a perfectionist? When she dropped off the fabric she asked if the shades, installed the week before, were working satisfactorily and when I described the tiniest glitch she fixed it. Well, more precisely, she sent her window treatment installer extraordinaire right upstairs to fix it. Great service.I’d use Kim again in a heartbeat.
We would recommend Kim to other people looking for custom window treatments. We did install special black out blinds behind our window shades to cut out the morning sun in the master bedroom. We worked with Kim to design how this system would work and we were well pleased.
Very pleasant transaction. Kim was very helpful in suggesting color and style, she notified us as requested when the order was shipped, and installed them promptly. They even adjusted vertical blinds that were already in the house for us. Would use her again without question.
Very prompt in returning my call and coming to my home for an estimate for the blinds. I was very pleased with her help in selecting the correct blinds for the dining and kitchen areas and their professionalism in installing the blinds, that I had her help me to select drapes for my bedroom. In every appointment I had with her, she was right on time. They also did a very good clean-up after the installations. These products have been a big help in keeping my house warm during these cold winter months.
The experience with Stepping Stone Interiors was fabulous. Kim and her installer were very professional. She arrived for the appointment with a variety of options. Kim took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for and gave options that were cost effective. For example, I asked for a particular type of window treatment, which we had in a previous home. Kim suggested another type of treatment, which recently came out, that would create the same effect for a lower price. Her knowledge of the Hunter Douglas systems was very high. Once the treatments came in, I was promptly called and they installed quickly and efficiently. They also ensured that the area was clean after the installation. I felt that they went above and beyond the call of duty when they removed the treatments that were on the windows and re-installed in our upstairs bedroom, so that they could be reused. Further, we had a light bulb out on a vaulted ceiling. Using their extra tall ladder, they changed the bulb! That is the ultimate of excellent service.
We had custom cornices built in our solarium. It was an extremely challenging project as it involved many windows including some high, quadrangle-shaped windows and many angles. I told Kim what kind of fabric I was looking for and what kind of decor we have. She chose the perfect fabric, photographed the area and had renderings made so that we could see exactly how the cornices would look. The cornices were made and installed perfectly and we’re thrilled with them.
