Dublin Interior Designer

Hi, my name is Kim Powers and as the owner of Stepping Stone Interiors,

I’m delighted to welcome you to our website.

Take a few minutes to review our most frequently asked questions.

And if there’s anything else I can answer, please feel free to let me know!

Sincerely, Kim

How did you become an interior decorator?

When I was young, I was a member of 4H, where I learned to sew and developed a love of fabric and creating things with my hands.

After graduating from Hiram College in Ohio, I worked in several industries, including insurance, as a teacher and a Paralegal, but my creative side was calling. In 2005 it was time to follow my dream of owning my own business. I kept coming back to my love of fabric and interior design. I decided to purchase a custom window treatment franchise. As the business continued to grow, I wanted to add more products and services than the franchise offered. After careful consideration, in 2010 I left the franchise and opened “Stepping Stone Interiors”.

What kind of schooling do you have?

In 2010 I attended Ashworth College and received an Interior Decorator certification. Keeping abreast of current trends in the design field is important to me. I also take classes and attend seminars at every opportunity in order to stay up to date.

Who are your clients?

Over the years I’ve enjoyed working with homeowners and some of the area’s best home builders on their model homes. I’ve also participated in the following – – Parade of Homes House – Dublin Women’s Club Tour Home – MI Homes Design Center at Easton

What is your service area?

Stepping Stone Interiors is a leading Dublin Window Treatment and Interior Design firm.  We are active with Upper Arlington window treatments, Powell window treatments, and Westerville window treatments.  Our window treatment and interior design work can be found from Columbus to New Albany, Westerville to Dublin.

What do you mean by ‘See It Before You Buy It’?

Virtual Design is a service I offer that helps my clients see what their window treatments or bedding will look like, BEFORE they make their investment.  The clients that purchase this service feel added peace, confidence and excitement about their window treatment and bedding selections as a result of investing in this service.

What products and services do you offer?

One very important element of the design process is the quality of the products and vendors. I am constantly researching innovative new products and building relationships with top merchants in order to provide the absolute very best quality in goods and services. My goal is to design a place you’ll want to come home to, a place that makes you happy.

Who do you like to work with?

Busy women that desire a beautiful home, benefit the most from my services. They have many demands on their time, whether from a career, family commitments, or community service. They are frustrated with trying to find the time to get everything done, including their decorating. They appreciate my concise, thorough, in-home consultation at their home, in their lighting, and at their convenience.

Going the extra step to ensure a pleasant decorating experience is a hallmark of the kind of service I provide.  My clients feel comfortable with me and trust me with their design projects. They know that I will do what I say and be there for them if they have questions or concerns. My desire to serve my clients is reflected in my Angie’s List Super Service Awards.

What do you do when you aren’t working?

Spending time with family and friends and volunteering for organizations that are special to me is how I enjoy my free time. I volunteer with Welcome Warehouse, Dress for Success, the City of Dublin and the Dublin Food Pantry as well as opportunities that come up with my church, Indian Run United Methodist.

Because we believe so strongly in giving back, we also make it easy for our clients to donate to Habitat for Humanity. If their existing window treatments are in good condition, once we take them down, we carefully package them up and deliver them to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore.

Green Interior Design:

We are also very careful to recycle whatever packaging materials that your new window treatments come in.

Whether it’s making your home a retreat at the end of a long day or making your office reflect your business style, Stepping Stone Interiors delivers quality products and excellent customer service.
